To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use supplies to build a new art center. I am hoping to use the items to create a space that is inviting and organized so we can focus on helping them learn.
In my PreK and Kindergarten special education classroom, art can help my students connect what we are learning to their hands-on experiences. Reading, language, math, science, fine motor and even life skills lessons can be enhanced in a fun and exciting way with arts and crafts. During the pandemic, many of my students haven鈥檛 been able to have the experiences children did in the past. Because of this, I see many fine motor skills declining. Through painting, coloring, cutting and gluing I am hoping to help them regain some of these missing skills.
