As a teacher of students with disabilities, I must follow the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and use "Specialized Curriculum" to support the various needs and levels of the children I teach. They learn in a variety of ways and on many levels, which in turn, requires a great deal of assorted materials for their diverse learning needs. Because my students are well below grade-level, I am not allowed to use the standard textbooks the schools are issued under IDEA. I must either pull from specific programs, or create the curriculum myself.
The Bob Books I am requesting fall under the category of "Specialized Curriculum" under IDEA and will help my beginning readers because the books break down reading skills into smaller segments, which is how my students learn best.
