You can help my students by providing them with supplemental curriculum and resources to help bridge the educational, social, and emotional gaps exacerbated by the pandemic.
These resources will benefit my students in all areas. I am Orton Gillingham trained, which is a reading program specifically for students who are dyslexic. Theses workbooks will go along with that curriculum to teach basic reading skills. I am also requesting resources to supplement my math curriculum, and resources to implement social and emotional learning in my classroom.
Because of the shut downs and distance learning caused by COVID-19 the last normal school year for my 3rd graders was kindergarten. The direct instruction missed in those important years has caused larger gaps in their educations than what I have seen in previous years. This supplemental curriculum will help me bridge those gaps and teach skills that they were never given the opportunity to learn. I will also use these resources to prepare distance learning lessons that can be used at home.
Every student who comes into my classroom has individual needs and goals. These resources will be used on a daily basis for many years to come.
