Kindergarten students LOVE to get involved and participate! We have an amazing area called the Kiva, our class' circle time area with steps for students to sit on so all can see. With this new easel, each student would have the opportunity to use this tool in a fun and hands-on way. Kindergarteners can be called up to attach magnetic word strips to form a sentence. In addition, I can model writing a good sentence with penmanship and spaces and grammar on the easel side that has lines, I love that feature! We also use Big Books in our room which are really fun to read with the large illustrations, but quite difficult to hold because of their size. The easel shelf would be a super place to put the book as I turn the pages. I also love the storage underneath so dry erase markers, erasers, and word strips are easy to access. What a great addition this would be to my room!
The magna tiles would be an awesome addition as we learn about 2D and 3D shapes and these manipulatives would be a fun and engaging exploration toy that students would get so excited about, they would forget they were learning!
