Do you remember finding that book that was just right for you? It wasn't too easy or too hard and, more importantly, it caught your interest and imagination. This project is important because you will be making a huge difference by equipping students with such a simple tool...a book.
I teach at a Title I funded school, which means I have a wonderful curriculum, but, resources are needed to help accomplish our goal. We are also experiencing budget cuts like a lot of schools today. I am trying to build my library slowly, and your generous donation could help me acquire books that are accessible and support the struggling readers in our school.
Providing a wide variety of reading materials provides each and every child the chance to expand their imaginations and keep the love of reading alive. The range of my students’ reading abilities is especially wide this year, and I simply do not have enough of the appropriate books needed.
My students love to read when they have books that they can read. It is my hope that we can come together to provide what they need in order to grow and thrive as developing readers. You will have the greatest impact one could have... inspiring children to love to read! Allowing all students to feel part of a community where reading is important and enjoyable and knowing that they are valued as readers regardless of their current level.
