Students need good books, and good books need to be relevant and relatable. It's a well-known concept that books need to act as mirrors that reflect the lives and experiences of our students, while also working as windows that show them new ideas and perspectives. By updating my classroom with new stories, I can provide students with rewarding reading experiences.
This means more opportunities to gain the high-level experiences needed to perform at or above grade level. Students love to read when they find good books, and that's key to developing lifelong readers.
