This project will fund class sets of some of our favorite books for 4th grade. They will be read and studied in class through literary circles and novel studies. My team will use these books to teach important English Language Arts skills.
"A child who reads will be an adult who thinks". When I think back to elementary school, I do not remember what was on the worksheets we did. Or the stories in the textbook. But I can tell you exactly what novels I read and the impact they had on my education. With the increase of technology in the classroom, I fear that students are falling out of love with picking up a book and diving in. When students connect with a story emotionally, they will learn far more than they ever could through worksheets. I want to give my students that chance to dive deep into a story and be impacted by the lessons they will learn.
