The supplies that I have requested will be used to help bridge the gap in learning for many of my students that have fallen behind due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the U.S. Department of Education, one of the key tenets of providing effective learning to students during the pandemic is to provide rigorous and rich content for all students. I believe that my students will benefit from these supplies because I will use them to increase the richness of my teaching. For example, students will not only learn about the processes of photosynthesis, but now they will have the opportunity to plant their own seeds and experiment with the variables involved in photosynthesis.
Using the supplies from this project, I will continue to build a video library of all of my in-class demonstrations that can be easily shared with students that are unable to attend in-person classes due to the Covid19 pandemic. This will allow all students the opportunity to participate in engaging and rich lessons irrespective of location.
