Hearing and manipulating sounds in words is the best predictor of reading readiness. These skills can be hard for young students, but with engaging materials, students are willing to do the hard work, because they're having fun while learning!
Fun, interactive materials will help my students learn critical phonological skills, laying the ground work for beginning reading. Students need to be able to match, isolate, and create beginning sounds, ending sounds, and rhymes in order to be ready to read. When we have these materials in our classroom, we will be able to do those skills.
Thank you for your consideration. My students and I are grateful.
