We have very few items to use in therapy. The items in our cart would help the students feel more comfortable opening up as their hands are busy while in therapy with things such as the Magna tiles, modeling clay, doddle board, fidgets, and Orbeez. This would lead to the students being able to overcome the mental barriers that stand in the way of them being successful in graduating from high school. In addition, we have selected professional therapy resources such as card decks, workbooks, and books which will keep us up to date and provide the best therapeutic intervention for our students. Therefore, leading to even more success within our social work department at our school and overall with our graduation rates.
We all know how hard these last two years of living in a pandemic have been for adults, and our students’ mental health has really been impacted negatively as well! These tools will help them to heal and gain better skills to adapt and live successful lives once they graduate from high school and go on to college. They will then go on to be the next adult generation that will do great things!
