In recent years surrounding the COVID-19 Pandemic, our students have been completing the majority of their learning remotely, through online classes and tools. Earlier this year, they were able to return to our classroom where they received in-person lessons. During this time, it became apparent that finding an appropriate curriculum for our transitioning students can be challenging with the tools currently available. This project will help fund materials and equipment to improve our transitional skills classroom. Here, we specialize in preparing students for the transition to the adult world, we teach vocational skills (including soft skills), financial literacy, and life skills. For the most part, we鈥檝e been able to create lessons that are catered to the transitional goals of our classes but this can be restrictive for certain students. Oftentimes, we must rely on teachers in similar classes to ours to create a curriculum and make it available to be purchased by other teachers. My students deserve to have access to tools and a curriculum that will appropriately teach them the life and vocational skills they need to transition into society as mature adults. This project will help fund materials for improving our transitional skills classroom. Here, we specialize in preparing students for the transition to the adult world, we teach vocational skills (including soft skills), financial literacy, and life skills.
