Based on the Hierarchy of Needs, students need food and a safe place in order to grow. A lack of these physiological needs distracts students from their urge to excel and focus in class. By providing preferable food to our students it helps them feel a sense of belonging and support from their school. During these times students are in need of extra resources and food to help them. In an effort to reacclimate students into the school setting we are needing to insure that students have access to some preferable food items to help encourage them to feel cared for by their teachers. Thus, by creating such an environment we hope that the students will be able to reengage in their work, because they feel cared for.
