This project is to ensure no student goes hungry during these hard times. Some of our students don't eat dinner and come too late to get breakfast at school. They come to me hoping to find something to eat or drink, especially after gym class. Teachers can't expect students to exercise during gym when they are hungry. I would like to offer them the choice between very healthy and somewhat healthy snacks.
鈥淕ood food is a right, not a privilege - It brings children into a positive relationship with their health, community, and environment.鈥-Alice Waters.
I work with a lot of 6th graders and they seem to always be hungry. I would like to have snacks ready for them when they pass by my office especially after gym class to keep their energy going until lunch time.
