This project will teach students how to use clay to create figures and animals to tell a story. After the clay dries, they will have a chance to paint the faces and details. Throughout the creativity process, we will do "art tours" of the classroom, observing and discussing each other's work, and providing positive feedback.
Forty-five percent of my students come from low income homes and do not get a chance to experience different art mediums. Art utilizes different parts of the brain and promotes the develop of fine motor skills as well. Many students who struggle with academics and sports, find success in the art studio. They find a place to belong and to shine! Please help my students discover their love of creative expression.
