My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given an assigned seat to work at. These carpet circles will give them a sense of their own space as well as collaborating with each other from a safe distance. Students are also more willing to collaborate when they have something they can use to share their work with (Large Post-it). All of these items in my list will help students collaborate as well as become more academically successful.
By donating to our class project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will also ultimately help give students an equitable education. Since most of these students come from a low-income household I want to strive to give them an opportunity to have a great educational experience just like others in the community.
