Students in the classroom learn science and chemistry primarily by investigating with common items found in the kitchen. They use the scientific method to learn kitchen based science. This helps them to have background understanding regarding food preparation and their environment. Some of their experiments involve food preparation. For examples, they learn about emulsion by making whipped cream, butter and salad dressing. They learn about solutions and suspensions by mixing ingredients with liquid and by making cooked cereal. They learn about oxidation with apple slices. Some students learning from home join a class via video meets.
