By providing my students with the opportunity to improve their understanding of numbers, quantities and parts of a whole. It also provides my students with meaningful interactions with manipulatives that give them the ability to bridge together the concrete and abstract connections of the concepts that are taught within the classroom.
Many students in this school district come from low-income homes and get the most interaction with hands-on resources that the school and community is able to give the students the opportunity of. Students learn best when they are given the opportunity to correspond a specific learning concept to a manipulative that they use that can help them recall and remember a concept.
About my class
