My project is aimed at helping students make up COVID gaps. It will help students focus on RL2.10 and RI2.10 - by the end of the year, students will read and comprehend literature, including stories and poetry, in the grades 2-3 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range. My project will also address social and emotional standards, including 1.ME.2.2, which describes how the expression of emotions can influence actions. The supplies for this project will also help students with their writing by focusing on, among others, W2.5 - with guidance and support from adults and peers, focus on a topic and strengthen writing as needed by revising and editing. Creating an exciting learning environment in our classroom will allow a positive learning experience for all students that will help improve attention, engagement, and support emotional and behavioral regulation. In conclusion, our upgraded learning environment will enhance students' excitement to learn. All products have been selected with my students’ educational, social and emotional educational needs in mind.
