These resources will allow my students to engage in lifelong and meaningful lessons and training in order to achieve independence in their home setting.
COVID-19 has disrupted the normal training process for these independent living skills, and the 第一吃瓜网 program will provide the materials necessary for students to learn, reinforce, and recover those lifelong skills needed for a healthy and positive outcome. My students will learn how to engage in self-help tasks and to become self-reliant. In addition, students will practice these skills daily and be able to demonstrate the ability to follow directions and to exercise self-care.
Standards for materials and supplies include the following:
To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of self-help skills. [NS: 1.1-1.15]
To demonstrate lifelong learning skills by continually acquiring new information and improving skills. [NS: 1.2]
To demonstrate effective speaking and listening skills by communicating effectively with students, customers, and employees and following directions. [NS: 1.2]
Specific tasks will include the use of various home appliances, namely a microwave, coffee maker and vacuum cleaner. Recipes, cleaning chores, list-making, and time management are all relevant functional skills that will be addressed through the use of these funds.
