The iPad will be used to run an app that tracks students' levels and provides lessons for learning to decode and encode words. The students in my intervention groups first grade through third grade will get a tactile experience building words with sound tiles while learning different phonetic patterns.
The goal is for my students to improve with their reading skills and become fluent readers. My students have deficits in foundational reading skills due to impacts of COVID-19 such as learning to read remotely. The instructional materials on the iPad will help students with phonics, word analysis skills, and decoding. The Nevada Academic Content Standards of Reading Foundational Skills: Phonics and Word Recognition, grades 1-3 (RF.1.3, RF.2.3, RF.3.3) will be taught to my students.
