Help me give my students a Dell laptop computer and color printer. The use of colorful materials is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in solving equations. Using the workshop model in math, students come to answer for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. This will allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. This project supports the Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS) and that is to create equations that describe numbers or relationships between zeros and factors of polynomials, specifically: A.SSE.A.1a Interpret parts of an expression, such as terms, factors, and coefficients. *(Modeling Standard) Content Area: Mathematics Know and apply the Remainder Theorem: For a polynomial p(x) and a number a, the remainder on division by x – a is p(a), so p(a) = 0 if and only if (x – a) is a factor of p(x). A.CED.A.1-2 Create equations and inequalities in one variable and use them to solve problems. Include equations arising from all types of functions, including simple rational and radical functions.
