My students have really enjoyed my small library of "classic" graphic novels and "kid friendly" history books. We nurture the power of reading, asking questions, and creative thinking.
My students gravitate towards books that are colorful, written with a "kid's perspective in mind, and that are meaningful to their lives. Reading is the foundation of every subject in our classroom, and as an avid reader, science and history buff myself, I know that these books would be super-well loved.
These books would be the foundation for classroom lessons, self-guided exploration, and read-at-home activities that are based around our classroom library.
