These materials will allow my students to experience learning through play and hand-on learning activities. The kinds of materials that are so readily available to students are typically inaccessible for my students or do not provide them the type of learning that helps them to be most successful. Students don't always learn best through traditional methods and strategies--some need fun and interactive materials more suited to their abilities and learning levels in order to learn and grow. The materials funded through this project will take interactive learning to the next level and give my students an opportunity to engage in their learning to a greater extent than before!
The bean bag activity, tunnel, and jumbo blocks will be used for indoor/outdoor play to facilitate cooperative play, verbal and nonverbal communication.
The shaving set and tape measure will be added to our dramatic play centers that allow students to practice daily living activities.
The lap desk and comfy floor seats are for independent work centers in the quiet zone where students can earn time to work away from their seats in a more relaxing setting.
The snap addition activity will be added to a math learning center.
