All of my students want to learn geometry and do their best. We have students with a variety of learning styles within our class. The calculators will provide the opportunity for the kids to apply the new concepts and not have to worry about the basic math skills and it helps them build self-esteem with their math skills to accept they are mathematicians. As they progress, they will be able to do team and independent work to build communication skills and to be able to practice socialization. Students will be able to take their confidence into the real world as they will be able to work with others and have learned to employ their skills as mathematicians. A class set of calculators will allow an equal playing field for all students. The other supplies will allow us to add color and many activities into the daily operations of the class, to avoid drill and kill/paper pencil math. We have a laminator, so we will be able to use the card stock to make many colorful task card activities for student engagement. Students will be able to use the colored pencils for many different projects and note packets.
My students and I are very excited about the possibility of having these supplies available as we continue learning. Thank you!
