Students at PCHS play in so many different ways, but one area that is lacking is in the area of music. We have a piano in the atrium along with one acoustic guitar. The students love to use both, however our ability to truly play music as a "backyard school band" is limited by not having the instruments required to do so. Students would be able to learn more than how to play music, they learn how to tap into a creative part of themselves, how to teach each other, how to listen to each other, and how to be a part of something bigger than them alone.
Many of our students come from low income homes, where instruments and music are not a part of their family life; while others bring talents in the area of music that allows them to shine in ways that help us understand who they are. Through this project we hope to allow some of our students to showcase their incredible abilities, and bring others to music who have not otherwise had the opportunity to embrace it!
