I hope to create a counseling office that provides my students with a safe space to express themselves. I want students to feel welcome and comfortable while they talk through their experiences. COVID has brought many hardships to my students and their families, and many are in need of extra social-emotional support during the school day. Allowing my students to destress and connect with each other can positively impact their moods, academic performance, and behaviors. I hope to provide my students with snacks and treats to help them get through the day. The calming toys, stress balls, and journals will be used to practice mindfulness and self-regulation outside of my counseling office.
