The carpet that I am requesting will provide a splash of color that will awaken my kindergartners curiosity to learn. Its perfect size and cheery colors will help me give my students a beautiful and inviting classroom to learn in.
Circle time creates a positive learning environment where students feel like a community as they sit and learn together. In addition, it serves as a teaching tool for whole group instruction such as turn and talk discussions as well as an effective classroom management tool offering each child their very own spot during circle time.
The carpet will serve as a a great place to see my students demonstrate whatever concepts we are working on and to encourage a love for learning as they make connections between a book and their own lives. Parents can reinforce the home school connection by reading books aloud, reciting/singing the alphabet, and using multi-sensory activities that were introduced during carpet time. Who would've thought how powerful and engaging a carpet could be!
