The purpose of this project is to create a safe space for my students where they can focus on their mental health and get the support they need within school grounds. The essential card games on this project are to help make some of the tough conversations teens have a hard time discussing easier. The workbooks and homework planner book helps provide activities to work on during a students time in my office to address social, emotional and mental health. There are times students show up without words and are not able to express fully what they are feeling or going through and that's where the feelings chart and stuffed octopus come into play. They will help students label what they are going through without having to put it into words. Stress balls and fidget items are helpful for students who experience anxiety or have ADHD. Some students are visual learners, a white board is helpful when I am trying to explain something and it can be tied to a visual.
Many students consider school their safe place and I would like to add to their safe place, a safe space in my office. On this project there are a variety of decorations and needed office supplies such as lamps, mirrors, shelves, plants and posters to help create a more inviting environment when a student walks into my office. Lamps help create an ambiance and decorations help make a space more friendly. Please help me create the space my students need when addressing their mental health needs in my office.
