Play is one of the main ways in which children learn and develop. It helps to build self worth by giving a child a sense of his or her own abilities and to feel good about themselves. Because it鈥檚 fun, children often become very absorbed in what they are doing.
Play also gives students the opportunity to learn how to work together and build life long skills that they will carry on with them through life. These items will help fulfill many standards throughout the kindergarten curriculum. Some standards that they will help with are as follows: L.K.2.D, SL.K.6, and K.CC.A.1.
