As a school social worker, it is my job to ensure that all students feel safe, socially and emotionally. It is my goal with these resources to help students be able to regulate when they are triggered or stressed and provide additional tools for them to be successful with their mental health. Many of these students live and thrive in a state of chaos and these meditation and mindfulness tools with assist them on learning healthy and appropriate coping skills. In addition the students can learn therapeutic techniques that they can also practice at home. By creating and supporting kids emotional well-being they will be able to focus more on their school work. The tools that your donation would provide is a meditation/quiet room in which they can learn tools to self-regulate and calm down when they are triggered or upset. In this space students can also work on social/emotional learning tools to develop positive and healthy coping strategies.
About my class
