Distance learning was difficult on many students, including those with special needs (the students I work with). Many of my students are still learning to draw shapes and write letters and therefore I use printed materials (when working with the students in person) and use the computer when working with the students virtually. Colored worksheets are more engaging for my students (than standard black and white worksheets). A color printer will make my sessions more engaging for my students. some of my students are still learning from home; when I am working with students virtually, it is very difficult for them to see what I am doing when I use a regular web cam. The document camera would allow me to teach my students how to draw shapes and form letters, therefore making my sessions much more effective. I also included various toys and sensory equipment to help my students stay calm and engaged in their sessions.
By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve the worksheets I use in the therapy room, but also improve the quality of therapy when students are learning from home, which will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
