We know from personal experience that books are powerful. Who hasn鈥檛 become fully immersed in a novel, empathizing with the characters and gaining new insight into our own lives in the process? As librarians or teachers, we can harness the power of books to help students deal with behavioral, emotional, and social issues in a practice known as bibliotherapy. At its most basic level, bibliotherapy involves selecting reading material relevant to the person鈥檚 life situation. In the past year and a half, teens have endured a lot of disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Help me introduce a new concept in the library by providing carefully selected reading materials to help and heal.
