The classroom carpet is a popular meeting place for my students and me. We do morning meetings on the carpet first thing in the morning. We also do most of our whole group instructions on the carpet; this includes read alouds, concept introduction, and brain breaks. The carpet is also used as a small group meeting place as students work independently in math and literacy centers. Indoor recess is done on the carpet as well. My students enjoy carpet time. They even take their Chromebooks to the carpet sometimes for a change in seating arrangement.
