My students are preparing for middle school, a time where their organization and order will be vital to their success. With this project, I aim to teach ways to organize their class work and homework in an effort to help them once again become accustomed to the expectations of face to face learning. Color coded folders and notebooks for each subject will remind students to only use them for specific subjects, while tools like standing storage will teach them the responsibility of submitting and retrieving their work. White boards and markers are essential to monitoring student participation throughout lessons without calling on them and interrupting the lesson, and books by African American authors will make the classroom library more relatable and inviting to students of color.
