I use something called Class Dojo in my classroom where I give the students green points for participating in lessons. Whoever has the most amount of green points by the end of the week gets a prize. I have been buying these prizes with my own money for the past four years because it is by far the biggest encourager to contribute to the lesson, which helps them learn and retain the essential standards.
My students love to learn when they are motivated. I can split my students up into small groups to get them more individualized attention. The rest of the class is on their iPads doing differentiated math and ELA lessons, which is why I need the headphones. The ones I bought have been breaking and a lot of students have to share with each other.
I also want the chair organizers to teach students how to be organized. Organization is one of my schools goals as an AVID school. And lastly, the privacy screens are for when the students take assessments so that they don't look at each other's papers, which would give me invalid data. I use assessments to drive my instruction, so this is also very important.
