The reading materials chosen will help me provide a variety of literature for students to build their reading skills. Students love to find new and interesting books to look at.
The materials will help cover two major standards as a year-end goal for my students. RL.2.10 - By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories and poetry, in the grades 2–3 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range. RI.2.10 - By the end of year, read and comprehend informational texts, including history/social studies, science, and technical texts, in the grades 2–3 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.
