Our school is an at-risk, low-income, Title I school where students, parents, and staff do not have access to the newest technology. This computer would benefit all of us because the classroom PC has to have a separate camera, microphone, and external speakers. At times one or more of these do not work during Google Meets, IEP meetings, or Parent-Teacher Conferences. Students will also be able to use this computer to do online interviews, and or be involved in their Virtual IEP meetings. Students will also benefit from this new computer because I'll be able to communicate with families much easier.
Having access to better technology during the pandemic will benefit all learners and give them better access to lessons that align with Nevada Academic Content Standards in the classroom and if they are learning from home.
Students need extra social and emotional support. Being able to see, hear, and interact with fellow students and staff is imperative to their development and well-being. Interacting with parents and families during meetings ensures they know their importance and keeps them a part of the learning environment.
