Our elementary school expects our students to be Respectful and Responsible in all areas. Our PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) system has been successful in helping our students with these school-wide expectations for behavior. By using this positive approach, students know their expectations and are responsible for their actions in all settings.
In my classroom, and throughout the school, a point system is used where students can earn points for being respectful and responsible. Students are rewarded for these points with tangible and nontangible items. The materials I requested are to encourage and enhance positive behavior. The prizes and books will be a way for students to redeem points. The games and activities will be offered to students who meet a certain amount of points. I have also asked for a printer to create student-made posters to show Respectful and Responsible behaviors and to print out certificates for those who meet these goals.
I would be so very grateful to receive these items for my classroom to help keep this PBIS vision going at F.E.S.
