Since returning to the building, I am trying to engage my students as much as possible. This project will enhance my students’ educational experience because it allows me and my students to access technology and math. I currently only have a desktop in my room. With the laptop, I am able to be a mobile teacher, allowing me to have more instant resources at hand. My students will benefit directly as a result of being able to benefit from what I create with the technology and connect to the 5th and 6th Standards of Mathematical Practice by using the tools appropriately and making sure they are precise. As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, my students need more access and resources to technology. This project will help them in this area. Also, the materials I am requesting, such as the laptop, will nurture my students’ interest in mathematics. My hope is that I will make a qualitative difference in the climate and instruction in my classroom and create a group of lifelong learners.
