I work with students in small groups to help them catch up in both reading and math. I will use the ball chairs during my small group activities to help my students focus and stay on track.
Covid caused our most struggling students to fall further behind their peers! My take home kits will help some of my parents to be able to work with their kids at home without needing technology. Parents will be able to work with their child using games and kits. The science games will help encourage literacy in a sneaky way that doesn't feel like reading practice!
SMP #1- Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them
OA Topic 3: In this topic, students expand previous work with solving word problems within 20 from Grade 1. Using problem structures (add to, take from, put together/take apart, and compare) with unknowns in different positions (result unknown, change unknown, and start unknown) students represent and solve one- and two-step word problems involving addition and subtraction within 100. Through this work, students make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. The Solving Problems Involving Addition and Subtraction topic leads to the work of solving multi-step word problems involving all four operations within future grades.
