These materials will be utilized in our classroom to help students understand math concepts throughout the year. With full class sets for each student, students will no longer have to share materials with partners/groups and can manipulate the materials themselves.
For example, in the past, groups of four students have had to share stairs of cubes from 1-10, but this does not always allow me to see misconceptions with each student because they worked as a team. Students will also have clearer instructions when asked how many cubes they have of each color and I can reference the specific color since they would have enough cubes for everyone to have the same two colors.
