The Common Core asks students to read stories and literature, as well as more complex texts that provide facts and background knowledge in areas. Students will be challenged and asked questions that push them to refer back to what they鈥檝e read. This stresses critical-thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills that are required for success in college, career, and life. These books will help provide books that kids love to read and support the following ELA standard: Compare and contrast texts in different forms or genres [e.g., stories and poems; historical novels and fantasy stories] in terms of their approaches to similar themes and topics. Please help me increase the number of popular book titles students may access from their very busy school library.
