Teaching after the pandemic has shown how much the students have lost in the past 18 months. Being able to work on those essential skills like RI6.1 and being able to cite evidence, understand what they are reading and support main ideas can be done while in pre-vocational skills. While reading instructions, directions and warning labels the students will be reinforcing these skills. The printer can print out the directions and instructions as well as labels to place in tshirts for the little store they run together when teachers ask them to help for concerts and plays. The press and labels will be used during this time as well and the students are using reading, functional math and science skills that are part of the individual education plans. Working together helps with self esteem, daily practice of skills and building those social interactions that are so vital to students with autism.
