Science is everywhere in students' lives, and understanding it is crucial to being an educated citizen. To me, science goes beyond memorizing the facts and figures that students read in the book. Students should be doing the science, not just learning it. I try to reflect that in my daily lessons by using inquiry-based, hands on lessons that get students involved with the science they're learning, whether I'm teaching my eighth grade Earth science kids or the seniors taking anatomy and physiology.
