Students in my class are unique and wonderful. Their needs range in ability, yet they have struggles different from their typical peers. Primary Autism students often struggle with fine motor skills, among other things. The different learning tools I am seeking will help them feel independent and successful. This independence is a goal for any student with Autism. The selected items will also make learning fun, as these students stay engaged and improve their attention span. The fun in learning will be present with such items as numbers that turn into robots, light up boards that help them write letters and numbers without the mess, easy to read and colorful flashcard style games for reading, as well as other items their hands can manipulate. It will feel like playing, but the learning will be apparent. (Language L.K.1, ELA RF.K.3)
