The base ten block kits will be used by individual students to strengthen their number sense and place value understanding. We work on subitizing daily to strengthen their number sense. Subitizing is accomplished with the usage of pictures, craft sticks, teacher made place value charts, and ten frames. It would be fabulous for students to have their own set of base ten blocks to manipulate on their place value charts. This will help strengthen and solidify their number sense skills. These resources can be easily shared with students when home bound.
