Kool Kicks is an art project allowing 5th grade students to design and paint a one of a kind pair of sneakers. I want 5th graders to leave elementary school feeling like they had a chance to express their uniqueness with a custom pair of hand-painted kicks. This past year, students missed out on a lot of the fun creative projects. Art supplies were scarce for most students. During this project, students will learn about artists creating wearable art. Students will improve upon their drawing and painting skills by learning new painting techniques. Students will incorporate the art elements and principles of design. NV Visual Arts Standards include (5)C.2, C.2b, C.5c, H.1a, H.2, H.5, A.1a, A.1e, P.1, P.3, P.4, P.6, P.7.
