The materials already have a place in my classroom. I plan on placing the items in my learning centers to encourage pretend play and student interaction. These items encourage social play and increase scenarios for social/emotional development. These items address the following Nevada State Board of Education Standards: H1.K.1, H3.K.2, H3.K.4. H3.K.5., G6.K.2.
With these Lakeshore items, my students will be able to practice their social and emotional skills that are lacking because they spent so much time by themselves during online learning due to Covid-19. During quarantine when school was not in session, many of my students did not have opportunities for group play for their social/emotional development.
I have seen how increased opportunities for play can positively affect my students' social/emotional learning and hope that the additional items will help us grow even more!
