These items will be directly used to accomplish NVACS 1.12.1 Demonstrate proficiency in multiple movement forms in physical activities. NVACS 1.12.3 Execute complex motor skills and various movement patterns within physical activities. 3.12.1 Engage in a variety of moderate to vigorous physical activities.
All of these standards are imperative to helping students with learning physical activity and beginning to accomplish physical fitness and mental wellness while returning to school after the pandemic.
For the last 18 months, students access to weight training and physical education have been impaired by the pandemic. Students have not had access to a regular physical education curriculum and their personal lives have become more sedentary with social distancing requirements, lack of in person physical education classes, and a lack of youth sports. I have a new class this year that focuses and teaching female athletes functional strength training techniques to help them with their particular sport.
