My students absolutely love to make music with instruments in my classroom! Playing instruments helps them to develop important skills like hand/eye coordination, discipline, focus, self-confidence and how to work together with a team. Unfortunately, our school has become overcrowded and class sizes continue to rise. It鈥檚 very difficult to give each student turns on the instruments when we鈥檙e limited in the number of instruments available in my classroom. Having more instruments gives each child more opportunity to develop their musical skills and stay engaged during the lesson. This additional xylophone in my classroom will be used to teach several standards for every grade that I teach, including melodic direction, ear training, and melodic improvisation.
